Channel Islands New Flyer named ‘Surfboard of the Year’
Congratulations goes out to Channel Islands Surfboards on their sixth consecutive ‘Surfboard of the Year’ award at the 2013 SIMA (Surf Industry Manufacturers Association) Image Awards in Anaheim, CA last Thursday night.
The Channel Islands New Flyer was awarded the prestigious ‘Surfboard of the Year’ award as voted on by SIMA members and a select list of specialty retailers from across the country.
“We are certainly honored to be awarded the SIMA Image Awards, ‘Surfboard of the Year’,” said Scott Anderson, General Manager at Channel Islands. “Like the original Flyer, we felt the New Flyer would be ideal for a wide range of surfers who look for hi-performance and versatility in a small package, and it appears our dealers and customers agree.”
In early 2013, Channel Islands began testing the New Flyer in Surftech’s NewTLPC (TL Pro Carbon) composite technology which will be hitting surf shops this Spring.
