Guts Griffiths Makes it Two in a Row at the British SUP Championships!

Hey guys just thought I’d update you, a few weeks ago I became the British SUP Champion for the second year running!

Chris Guts Griffiths made it two British titles in a row (and his 12th overall) at a packed Fistral beach over the Aug bank holiday.

In testing 2-3ft wind swell, Guts showed his mastery of the conditions early on when in round 1 he posted a very impressive two wave total of 17 points.

There were a few upsets early on too with perennial finalists Tim Mellors and “Aussie” Gareth grant failing to make it out of their first heat, being outscored by a very happy Alex Murray and Jim Richardson.

The final was a hard fought affair with all 4 guys battling with the wind and chop as much as with each other, however, it was Guts who just looked that bit sharper and more radical in the testing conditions.

Guts said “I am so stoked to have retained my title. This has capped off a good season for me, having won the night surf earlier this summer too.

I won both events on my 9′ 6″ Gerry Lopez Surf Music.
