Elliot Dudley’s 10′ 3″ Takayama Alii Review – In Barbados!

Posted on May 11, 2009 - Filed Under Longboarding, Stand Up Paddling | By

Elliot Dudley is no stranger to the winners podium for surfing and stand up paddle boarding, his sucesses include European Champion 2005, B.L.U. Tour Champion 2005, Welsh Champion 2006, 2nd Place World Noseriding Championships 2006 to name but a few. Elliot has recently been surfing the Takayama 10ft 3′ All’i. He tells us about it :

The 10’3″ All’i IV is one of the most high performance SUPs around with all the features of today’s modern longboards in a stand up board. This board turns on a sixpence but one of its best attributes is its noseriding ability. With this board you can get hang tens to rival even the best longboards and then walk back, jam the paddle in and perform a big roundhouse cutback.

At a narrower than average 27″, it takes a few sessions to get used to, but once you get it dialed you won’t want to ride anything else. Previous stand up boards I’ve ridden really let you know you’re on a paddle board when you get anywhere near the nose as they really push water. This is where Donald’s longboard knowledge comes in.

Finally, to prove this boards caliber, Noah Shimabukuro road this board at the Puerto Escondido stand up paddle event. Enough said.

The specs of the board are:
N: 6 13/13″
M: 21 3/16″
T: 9 1/2″
TH: 7 1/16″
Volume: 130L

Here are some shots of Elliot on the board.
