Update – So far 2009

Hey everyone

It’s my first post on the blogs, and thought I’d share some of the magazine features I’ve been a part of recently.

My latest exploration trip was to the Western Sahara in northwest Africa. We surfed countless high quality empty, wrapping right hand point breaks. The lack of visiting surfers is due to the uncertain political situation, the area defined by the UN as a non-self-governing territory, run by the Moroccan military, with a certain autonomy to the indigenous Sahrawi people. Although we had a few issues with accessing waves close to military bases, the land mine areas were not concentrated by the best waves, and the whole trip was a lot easier than our challenging Mauritania project in January 2008.

I have also recently been using the 7″ Performance its superb, and with my Takayama Noah Comp, it works really well. Excellent flex and response through the turns, but enough stiffness to maintain fast drive down-the-line.

The mags that have featured articles are Nalu, Surfnews (Italian), African Surfrider, Slide, Mabuhay, Carve, the Surfers Path.

Keep checking back for any future updates.
