Ding Dough Repair

Surftech Tuflite & Wood Veneer surfboards are incredibly strong and light and can withstand 3-4 times more punishment that an average surfboard. Although Surftech boards are tough, they can be damaged. That’s why Surftech offers three ding repair kits:

Ding Dough is a quick fix repair putty that cures in the water!

It can be used with Epoxy or Polyester boards and can also be used as a filler for more thorough repairs as you’ll see in a minute, as here is our guide to using Ding Dough:

  • If necessary, prepare the dinged area by removing any jagged fiberglass or other debris

  • Open Ding Dough, peel away wrapper and pinch off just enough to entirely fill the ding.

  • Knead the Ding Dough to thoroughly mix the two components. When it turns an off white color it is ready to apply.

  • Begin by pressing Ding Dough into ding to fill it completely. Be sure you don't leave any air inside the ding.

  • Wetting your fingers, smooth out the repaired area removing any excess Ding Dough.

  • If necessary you can fine sand it with a fine grit sandpaper, 220 or higher. Paint with Tuflite Touch Up paint or spray paint. And your ready to surf!

It’s always recommended that you wear a dust mask and latex gloves when working with resins and fiberglass. Always do your repairs in a well ventilated area.
