Skeg Island

A legendary surfer and pioneer of surfing culture in the Land of the Rising Sun, Japan. Tad Suzuki has enjoyed both surfing and shaping careers for over 40 years. He is known as the most innovative and
aggressive shaper who has endeavoured to create the best shapes and utilize the latest materials for surfboard construction.

Tad shaped his first surfboard at the age of 19 without any knowledge of shaping conventions. He started his real career as a shaper by learning to
shape in surf city, Huntington Beach. He opened the first surf shop in Shounan-Chigasaki, which soon became the Mecca of surfing culture in Japan. He won a title in the third All Japanese Surfing Contest and participated in various international contests as the first Japanese contender, including the Noosa Festival in 2001.

His passion for the best surfboard materials led to the use of epoxy technology that many shapers tried with
limited success. Finally, Suzuki met Surftech with their Tuflite technology, which is as innovative and sophisticated as he ever could have hoped for. Now he is the first Japanese shaper to join the Surftech line-up with his 9'4" round pintail competition model and the latest 9'1"
Girls model, both with the perfect outline and concave for all round fun performance.
