![]() Team Riders: Pancho SullivanAs of March 2003 there were exactly three Jeff Bushman Surftechs in the world, and Pancho Sullivan had them all: a 6' 4" squashtail, a 6' 6" rounded pin and a 6' 10" rounded pin. These were the prototypes of designs Bushman drew from Pancho Sullivan's quiver and they spent the late winter and spring stress-testing the board on the North Shore. Sullivan rode the 6' 4" from knee-high Monster Mush to good Rocky Point and it flew. He rode the 6' 6" and 6' 10" in North Shore conditions up to eight-foot Backdoor, and he got barreled. Pancho even managed to break the 6' 10" when he pulled into a big Backdoor barrel, but by spring, shaper and surfer were convinced that the Surftech system applied to high-performance shortboards as well as longboards and funboards. In April, Pancho flew to Australia to compete, and he had the two surviving Surftechs in his quiver. He is sold, and so is Bushman.Jeff Bushman began shaping in the 70s in Ventura and claims he shaped 3000 surfboards before he ever saw another person make one. He shaped under his name as a hobby until 1982 when he took on the name Cyclone Surfboards. During the 80s he traveled extensively shaping boards wherever he went. In 1988 Bushman moved to the North Shore to put his surfing and shaping skills to the test: "The best surfers and the best shapers live in Hawaii and so I went there to see if I was up to it." Bushman hit the island running and hasn't stopped since. Bushman figures he has shaped more than 31,000 surfboards and some of them have been ridden by Hawaii's best. As a newcomer to Hawaii Bushman shaped for Shawn Briley, Tamayo Perry and Pancho Sullivan when those surfers were groms, and into the 90s he began making competition and performance boards for a variety of local and visiting surfers: Ross Clarke-Jones was Bushman's original test pilot, and won the 2000 Eddie on a 10' 0" with "Rocket Rails." ![]() 6'3" TL2 Pancho

Pancho's step up board for waves of confidence. Offering the volume a bigger surfer needs with a pulled in tail and template to fit the curve of solid waves.
